Keep on keepin on!

Hi Friends & Family,

This has been a rough week on our hearts. There's been a lot of change and a sense of new learning and acceptance. Meme is adjusted to being at home, and with lots of help from Papa is finally getting on a really good schedule with her meds. The goal is to keep her pain free and it seems to be working! Hospice has made a few visits and they are so wonderful. They have so many services to provide families and caregivers in this time ... it is just incredible. As usual Meme is just amazing, her fight and love for life is shining through. We have watched as she has been thrown hurdle after hurdle this past week and she clears each one with grace and strength. She is an beautiful woman and we are all lucky to know and love her.

We are hoping to use this site for many of you to post letters to her. If you are far away or sick and can't visit this will be especially helpful. Papa can print your messages out for her if she's not able to make it to the computer. So feel free to leave her messages whenever you'd like!

Papa would also like to thank everyone for all of the food that has been prepared for them .... hoo ya! Debbie Lemon's corn chowder and Mandi's pepper steak were huge hits. It is the simple things that bring so much comfort and love at this time.

  1. Meme and family,

We have been thinking of you alot lately and praying for good days for you ahead. Little Dave and Big Dave keep us updated on how you are feeling but since I am a blogger myself I really like that this blog is here so that we can get updates this way.

We know what a strong woman you are and there are so many people around you that love you, we are thinking of you all the time and hope that you feel better really soon.

    With love,
The Smith Family (Dan, Aly, and Addi)
